Rolling Stone Magazine posted today that Universal Pictures will finally move forward with their Kurt Cobain biopic, partly based on the book Heavier than Heaven. The studio is in negotiations with Oren Moverman — the Oscar-nominated director of The Messenger — to direct and work on the project’s screenplay. Though Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl have argued over the band’s publishing rights with Cobain’s widow Courtney Love, Cross says that Universal has secured necessary rights to use Nirvana material in the movie. “Everything I know is that the people at Universal have everything tied up, so whoever gets cast as Cobain will be able to sing these songs in the movie.” No Nirvana songs appeared in About a Son, a film that retold the rocker’s story in his own words.
We cannot wait to see this flick, stay tuned for more info.

Now don't get us wrong, as designers, we live, work + breath the industry that is fashion. We feel very blessed to be able to attend shows from some of the worlds BEST designers (some of whom are considered artists [R.I.P Alexander McQueen - you will be missed]) & see their collections down the runway before anyone else in the world - it is one of the definate perks of the job amoungst many, however it seems that Fashion Week (at every Fashion Week city around the world) brings out a whole army of wanna-be's. You know the people I am referring to (& if you don't, then sadly you may be one); the people that don't work in the industry, but love being 'part' of the industry. The ones that just 'hang around' the tents trying to get their photo taken, wearing ridiculous outfits that they think will get them noticed as wearing 'Couture*' (*NB A cheap pair of Mouse Ears trying to imitate the Marc Jacobs bunny ears, does not maketh Couture - yes I'm talking to you Blondie, 'hanging around' outside the Charlotte Ronson show tent last night). This may sound like a gripe & in a way it is, but if you want to be part of the industry - heres a thought; Do something industry related.
